Carcinogen Found in KFC's New Grilled Chicken
Doctors Ask KFC to Withdraw Kentucky Grilled Chicken After Tests Reveal PhIP
WASHINGTON—Tests of KFC's new Kentucky Grilled Chicken have revealed substantial amounts of a carcinogenic chemical in all samples tested, according to a report released today by the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM), which is asking KFC to withdraw the product from sale.
A PCRM scientist visited six different KFC stores, obtained two samples from each location, and sent them to an independent testing laboratory. All 12 samples were found to contain PhIP, a chemical classified as a carcinogen by the federal government. PhIP, part of a chemical family known as heterocyclic amines (HCAs), has been linked to several forms of cancer, including breast cancer, in dozens of scientific studies. No safe level of ingestion has been identified. Every sample also tested positive for at least one additional type of HCA.
The new KFC grilled chicken products were the focus of a controversial promotion by Oprah Winfrey, who offered coupons for free Kentucky Grilled Chicken meals on her Web site. PCRM has alerted Ms. Winfrey to these findings.
"Just as the fat and cholesterol in fried chicken have prompted concerns about heart attacks and obesity, the carcinogenic chemicals found in Kentucky Grilled Chicken raise serious concerns about cancer risk," said Kristie Sullivan, M.P.H., a PCRM toxicologist. "No parent would knowingly serve carcinogens to a child, and parents have no idea these chemicals are in KFC products. We are asking KFC to withdraw Kentucky Grilled Chicken."
PhIP and other HCAs do not exist naturally in chicken; they form when animal muscle is cooked to high temperatures. The National Toxicology Program administered by the National Institutes of Health has identified PhIP as carcinogenic, as have the State of California and the International Agency for Research on Cancer.

I had more Native American blood than I thought.
My grandfather Mother is full bloodied and than my great grandfather is half. That part I didn't know. I always thought it was just my great grandmother that was Native American. That will makes my grandfather three quarters....tribe being Iroquois..Did I spell that right?
My grandmother...everyone is Italian on her side.
My mother is the Cuban...
While I was born in Northern Cuban, USA. LOL.

Well, Jeff has been working a lot. I miss him. Yesterday he work from 10am to 4am. Today he went at 2pm. Its been hell at his job. I don't think it should be all that bad tonight but who knows. He is extremely tired and cranky. Maybe he will go nuclear at his job today. If his lazy ass co-worker would do their part than things can go much more smoothly at work when they have the weddings, and conferences. I suppose that is everywhere. At his job everyone is getting a pay cut, and they got there sick days taken from them. So he lost his raise for the year. They said that is all they are going to do. They fired a bunch of people as well. Jeff wants to look for another job. I think he is just stressed out. There is not much up here. Maybe there is.

I am cracking out on Repo: The Genetic Opera. I remember watching Craig Ferguson show in November of late last year and Pairs Hilton came on. That is when I first heard about this wonderful film. The show the scene of when they are talking about Zydrate. I thought damn Pairs looks pretty hot. I have never ever said that about her. I think she should dye her hair black. It suits her better. I don't know if I should post the song...I don't want to give too much of the music away...But I AM ADDICTED!!! lol
If anyone out there reading don't listen if you don't want it spoiled for yourself:
In news of another movie I watch last night was The Wrestler by Darren Aronofsky :

I actually didn't care for this film. I am sadden to say this since I LOVE all his others movies. I don't know what went wrong with this. Maybe he is happy. It doesn't even feel like an Aronofsky movie. It wasn't a bad movie I give like 3 out of 5 but it lacks everything. I felt nothing at all. I like the first part of the film after that it was just ehhh. I felt the same way for No Country for Old Men.
Out for now, I need to work out and clean a little bit for the day is over.

Last week we had to buy a new washer machine. When the last freeze came about a month and a half ago. The motor pump went out. We called everywhere for the part. No luck. Also every handyman we called said it was better to buy a new one. We did the laundry mat a couple of times and everyone there are a bunch of greedy ass hog washer machine fucks. I never had that problem in Miami. Ah, I so miss the warm. So far that is a new refrigerator, stove, and washer machine. What is next? I hope nothing. I am almost done paying for the stove. Yay! Doesn't my life sound real exciting! lol.
Here is the washer machine: http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_1260 5_02628032000P?vName=Appliances&cName=Washers+%26+Dryers&sName=Top-Load
We tried getting a front loader since they waste less water, and electricity but it wouldn't fit. Ours is energy efficient as well.
I canceled WOW last week too. I am happy. It was becoming a chore. Often when I played I got quite bored. My character Laesum I believe is level 68 almost 70. They made an expansion up to 80. My slow ass computer wouldn't be able to handle it. I see this all for the best. I have more time to do more crap now.
I been keeping up with my walks in the park. Also loosing weight. Yay! My pants are all falling off me. I need to buy more clothing but no MONEY! Hopefully I can find a part-time in the near future. I been looking but everything is full-time, and my ankle can't handle that yet.
Looking forward to seeing Watchmen. Graphic novel was awesome. Read it when I first moved up here. Jeff really likes Alan Moore stuff. I wonder if he will have days to work this week. He has been off basically the past 3 weeks. His boss told him that it should pick up on April.
Well, this is getting real boring. Off to read...

Clive Barker canceled a week ago. So sad.
Other than that I have a massive headache...
Today was a good day. Why is it? I was able to take a shower!!!! For the past two months I been taking sponge baths. Those days are over. Also I been walking without a cane. Trying real hard not to use it. I did the last few days even thought my therapist told me not too. I been so sore these last few weeks. Its a type of sore that is when you haven't workout your entire life. I got two new exercises to do with my other ones. #1 is tippy toe #2 a balance board which I get to do sitting down for now. I haven't down a tippy toe in 5 years. It feels good to do one. After all this is over I can seriously lose weight, and get back to what I use to be. Its going to feel good to be normal again. In a few weeks when I go back to see my doctor. He is going to fit me in for foot orthotics.
We still don't have a stove. It has been 4 weeks? Or just about that. It is suppose to get here Wednesday. The carpenter is either going to be here Wednesday or Thursday to make the stove fit, and install a plug for the stove. We had a drop in stove before, and those are just way beyond our budget. It would have been nice to get a double oven.
This is the oven we got:

I am very excited about all this also very tried. Its been non-stop this whole week. I am going to be free of pain. My Doctor...Dr. Mark J Greenbaum said that even with the recovery I am going to feel less pain then what I am going through now. Six weeks of healing. That is short. On Friday I got my wheelchair, and crutches from a medical supply place called Kelly's. The wheelchair to rent is about 135 dollars a month. If they are in the network, the insurance will pay 80% if not 60% which is still better than paying for it full. I already have all my things together. The blue folder, my pj's that I am wearing there, my cam walker, and my pills are all on top of the wheelchair. I took my jewelry off. I can't wear no make-up and I need to stop eating, and drinking by 8pm tonight. Jeff dad is driving us down there. That is going to feel very nice to have family there. Jeff has been so supportive. I just didn't think this would ever happen. I love him so much. I don't know how I got so lucky to have a man like Jeff. My parent's won't be there. Well, that is nothing new to me. They weren't there for my wedding, or when I had surgery the first time for my ankle. There is so much drama going on with my sister that they tend to always forget about me. Enough whining. LOL. After the six weeks of healing I will get three weeks of physical therapy, and I believe a MRI scan done to see if there is any further complications. He thinks there is something with my bone but normal x-rays does not give enough information to do a proper diagnose. That is why he gave me 89/90%. I never feel any pain in my actually bone, its right under where the tendon is. And like said if I live with no pain that is 100% to me. I don't care if I never get full range of motion.
Well, I am off to watch Twin Peaks pilot its been a while since I have seen watched it. I don't want to wear my tape down. They have it on dvd. Some big ass collector box set with both season, and pilot. Maybe after all this hospital/doctor bills I can get it.

The surgery is all set up for this Monday coming up for June 30. I have to be there by 9:30am, and the surgery is at 10:45am. I am so excited. I just can't believe this is finally happening after/almost 5 years of being in pain from walking/standing...anything that has to do with my ankle. I can probably have a "normal" life again. Dance again! Exercise again with no pain! Everything that people take things for granted with NO PAIN! I been so sleepless lately, and I been super busy. I am not going to have any more metal in my ankle which is great for future problems I may have, and need a MRI. The doctor is still concern that this may not solve the problem. The thing is its going to solve the problem with the pain, and I am sooo happy about that. He said that my ankle scar is gonna look a little worst from being cut open again. Once again I don't care. Battle scars are sexy. Its the mark of strength, courage, and of course a story.
I already paid for the deductible. That was a 1000.00$$$$$$ I remember when they use to 100 than 200...250. I got my surgical boot/cam walker, that was 700.00$$$$. I just can't how much that shit is. I just pay now 20% coinsurance after the deductible is made. It could be worse, and I believe my payment max is 3000.00 $$. I also my doctors prescription for after the surgery. I got Meprozine for the pain, never heard of this pills(a pain reliever similar to morphine). Am gonna be messed up for a few days. And Clindamycin which is the generic brand for Cleocin for the antibiotic. I still need to get a wheelchair, and crutches. Jeff Dad called me and said he has two wheelchairs for me to choose from, and all I need is to buy the crutches which I called a medical supply place, and its about 56. But first they send it to my insurance, and I pay 20%.
I am so tired. I need sleep. I am going to post this also on myspace.

I went to the podiatrist this morning. Things are looking up. I do have to have another surgery. After this I won't do another if it doesn't work. They are going to take all the screws, and plate out. Afterwards he is going to stretch the tendon. That is what has been causing my ankle spasm. My tendon is too tight. He said, the bone heal very nicely, and the doctor that did it had done a good job. When the assistant took the x-ray out, I couldn't help to cry. Everything that I been through is going to be over soon. The doctor kept saying no tears its a good thing. He doesn't understand why I am crying. LOL. He said that the tendon is 89/90 % of the problem. He said if its the bone, that a whole different ballpark, and something that really can't be fix with guaranteed results. It will take about two weeks for the wound to heal, and about 6 weeks for the tendons. And just 3 weeks of therapy. Its an outpatient procedure which I am very happy about. The surgery is going to take about one hour, and half. At least I going to have Jeff for all this, and that is going to help more than anything. When this happened last time, I had NO emotional support.
In other news, last week my refrigerator broke down. The new one was shipped to us on Saturday, and its beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeautiful! Its a frigidaire, stainless steel, and 26 cu ft. It has some fancy features like filter water, and ice maker. Its really nice. I am glad I bought it. It was on sale for 854.00 plus warranty it came out about 1150 dollars. I applied for the sear credit card, and I get no interest for a year. I will pay on it 150 - 200 a month. It will be paid before we know it. Than it will be time to get a stove.
I am off to rest, and finish my cup o noodle soup.

I been sick these two days. Just a mid-grade fever. Nothing to go crazy about. Nothing much has been happening. Just doing the same old thing. I need to rememeber to call WyndHam resort to book over rooms for Screamfest this year. Also an appointment to see whats wrong with my ankle. Screamfest, its gonna be fucking great. Just like last year. I dont know if we are going to DragonCon though. We didn't go last year, and I know we didn't miss much. I feel DragonCon is all about who has the best custom. Boring.
As for Alien Sex Fiend and Specimen show, we aren't going. Its just too damn high. Its 35.00 per ticket, than the service charge. I see about almost forty dollar per ticket, and if not just a tad more. So about eighty dollars for the tickets. Thats not including the gas, and of course drinks, and food. Its takes about two hours to get to Atlanta. That will be about fifty dollars of gas one way. Hell no! If I was living in Atlanta of course I would go. So sad how greedy this country is.
At least we have screamfest to look forward towards the end of the year. This year they are going to have some new, and big guest names!!! I can't wait!!!!
1. Malcolm Mcdowell ( I just can't believe he is going to be there! Little Boots!)
2. Angus Scrimm ( it doesn't get any better than this! I been wantint to meet the Tall Man forever!!!)
3. George Romero ( I will be meeting him once again!!!!!!)
4. Most of the crew of Dawn of the Dead. 30 year anniversary.
5. Fairzua Balk ( hottie!)
6. many others....i just don't feel like typing it out. Getting dizzy.
Later, until next time.

Since I last posted. Nothing to report. My life is going great. Been catching up with my reading, and playing way less of WoW. I am bored of the game. Windstream has to be about one of the worst telephone customer service around. Last night my DSL went down about 5:37pm, didn't come until wee into the night. At first I just thought it might have been a temporary down because we had freezing rain yesterday. After awhile, I was jonsing to play WoW like a junky on H. Lidia was getting on my nerves on the phone. Preaching this, and that. She is ultra conservative, ultra religious christian now, and I just can't handle that. I don't have a problem with people having faith, I just don't like to hear how everyone is wrong. What she believes is right. I just don't want to get into it but it really ticked me off. I hope its just another one of her phrase in life, and she will get back to the old Lidia. Me in a political view, I am just smack in the middle. Either way is just too fuckin extreme for me. Well, after that whole ordeal, I called windstream to seek help. First off, they don't even have the number on the actual bill. I had to find the telephone book, and bam there it was it. I called 1-888-blah-no-help number, and I was on wait for about 10 mins that seems like hours with that lame ass music they play. My fuckin phone died, and I get no help. Maybe it was longer. Well, after like 20 mins after the call, suddenly my DSL is working again. Instant smile, and calmness took over me. Now to crack out until 6am.
Here is my warlock, she is super newbie:
( Stragella: This is her at Lvl 10, doesn't look much like a warlock now: )

I use to like writing in this, not so much anymore. I really don't have much to say. My life is pretty dull but things are going to change this year. Am fixing my ankle, and hopefully getting a life. Well, I have a life but not the life I want. I would just love to do the things I use to do. Dance, paint without having to sit down all the time, climb, jump, run, all that shit. What I wonder is if they are going to take out the metal I have in my ankle. If they do I want to keep it.
I haven't been playing WoW as much as I liked to. I have some pretty neat characters. I am a night person, and Lidia, is in bed by 10pm. I never had a life like that. Wait, that is a lie I have been its been so long its like a dream. Speaking of dreams, I been having very strange ones. Undead, zombies type people locking me up in some apartment encouraging me to paint. I was not to be released until I have completed some art work. Yes, I have been neglecting it but its just too cold to do anything. Its like 18 degrees right now! That is one thing I am getting once I have a job is fuckin central heat. Ah, I miss Miami.
I am currently reading two books, Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton and Bizzarro Starter Kit. I am doing this year 25 signet classic reads. Most of them I have read but its been a good ten or more year since I have read them so its time for a refresh. I want to make my 50 books mark by the end of the year. So far its a slow start.

The first paragraph sounds like I am unhappy with my life. Its the total opposite. I couldn't ask for a better husband/friend than Jeff. He has been there for me since 2001. He takes care of me. He does everything for me. I am so great full for that. How many people are like in this world. Not many. I am just happy that I am. Before I just use to bitch, and bitch. There isn't much of that anymore. Just petty shit like how fuckin cold this house gets.
I am so addicted to this album. As well as the movie.
the end.

I am cold. I been feeling frozen lately. We been having more snow that usual, and a lot of freezing rain. We have another severe storm warning for tonight so I hope Jeff gets come in time.
I became friends with Lidia again. We haven't spoken to each other since about 2005 when I left her house. We also have been cracking out on WoW again. its also been that long since I haven't played. I am playing alliance character. I am a dwarf female warrior, talent skills on protection. I also have a character on the horde side. A female warlock blood elf. I been spending way to much time, on it so I am putting a limit on myself. after 7pm I could play after my work out, reading, chores, all that crap. I been neglecting my reading big time. How am i going to reach 50 books this year if I haven't even started on one.
here are some pictures of hoar frost, and icicles on Blood Mountain, my frozen sliding glass, and my yard.
